Welcome, my name is Karen Cockerill

I’m a change catalyst who loves transformation stories.

I established Hi5 Resources, in 2020, out of a need for resources to support our family through some NOT so unique challenges.

Hi5 enables me to publish creative resources aimed at, reframing challenges (or difference) in a way that empowers families to share and connect with others with similar challenges.

My aim for Hi5 is to encourage you, to find creative and respectful ways to love, honour and share your deeply woven and unique story.

My hope is that as you find your voice, you will also find your tribe.

Flamingo & the river stories

When the River of Stories is silenced by crocodile weed, Flamingo and the residents of this wondrous place, ‘not so very far from here’, must work together to save it. The solution is simple, but it requires commitment and, ultimately, teamwork. This magical story is a beautiful bedtime tale for any child, but also has some important messages.

We love hearing how the story relates to you, and your story. You might not need to use all of the tools given to Flamingo, to keep your river clean, and that’s okay. Only use those that help you and your river.

Our reviews

This beautifully illustrated allegorical tale helps children who need daily medication to manage their health see themselves represented in a story. It also invited others to immerse themselves in a lived experience different from their own, broadening their understanding. After all, we are more connected to the stories of others than we may realise._
